Dostoevsky says, "man can live without science, he can live without bread, but without beauty he could no longer live, because there would no longer be anything to do to the world". Thus affirms this year's UNIV theme, PULCHRUM: The Power of Beauty.
The understanding of beauty is not limited to the thoughts of great philosophers, aesthetics experts, and modern thinkers. As a matter of fact, last January 14, delegates from different study centers flocked to Tanglaw University Center Auditorium to present their papers for the UNIV 2012 Philippines Final Congress. Inspired by the theme, university students shared their insights on beauty vis-a-vis various fields like advertising, politics, religion, natural sciences, architecture, and special education.
The last two research papers were from our very own Balanghai UNIVers - Ja Din, Thea Fabay, Yanie Somes, Chela Karaan, Marzzy Trimpe, Guaya Melgar, Ivy Zuniga, Issa Geronimo, and Tin Martin. FULL SAIL AHEAD TO ROME! Viva UNIV!
